  Service History

11/15/2001 - 3 miles - Purchased my 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac from Crouse Ford in Taneytown, MD. Very enjoyable transaction!
12/15/2001 - 300 miles - Installed Yeasu FT-817 ham radio. Click here for pictures.
4/2/2002 - 5000 miles - Pennzoil 5w-30 oil change, Fram PH2 filter change, installed Fram SureDrain SD2, rotated tires
4/17/2002 - 5500 miles - Took ST to Len Stoler Ford in Owings Mills, MD to have filter installed on fuel pump. Fuel pump was causing noise in radio. Stoler refused to do anything about this even though there is a TSB and part to cure RFI being emitted from the fuel pump. This is the second time Stoler didn't satisfy me. I do not recommend them for service and am not going back.
4/20/2002 - 5600 miles - Crouse Ford called me after I emailed them regarding my poor service at Len Stoler. Dave from Crouse told me that there was a TSB #01-07-03 out on this problem and requires installation of part # F1PZ 18B925 A. He installed the part on 4/26/2002 and that did not fix the problem 100%.
4/27/2002 - 5700 miles - I installed a homebrew filter on the powerleads to the fuel pump. This fixed the RFI problem! Click here for instructions on how to fix this problem.
5/29/2002 - 6900 miles - I changed the oil using the Fram SureDrain and wrote up these instructions on how to install it. I also installed the Explorer Express upgrade rear Sway Bar and posted these instructions. This was in preparation for the driving trip to Montana, which is documented here.
6/14/2002 - 12000 miles - I changed the oil, filter and rotated the tires.
8/31/2002 - 16000 miles - I changed the oil, filter, and rotated the tires.
9/21/2002 - 17000 miles - I installed the K&N air filter using these instructions.
1/4/2003 - 20000 miles - I changed the oil, filter, and rotated the tires.
